Profile I am a highly experienced software engineer with broad ranging experience in diverse engineering secors. I have a proven innovative approach to problem solving, and is knowledgeable in a wide range of technologies and techniques covering the full product development lifecycle.

  • I am very experienced in the C and C++ programming languages and embedded systems.
  • I have extensive experience of UNIX and Linux operating systems at both the kernel level and application development level using the GNU tool-chain.
  • I have a proven track record of designing and implementing systems to specification, on time and to budget.
Achievements
  • I ran my own software consultancy business, offering a broad range of services to the IT industry. The work I undertook includes Windows .NET application development and real-time multimedia streaming.
  • Significant contribution to the development of a voice over IP media gateway and associated applications, in an embedded environment.
  • Responsible for the concept, design and implementation of the successful Intelligent Network service creation system for GPT.
  • Played a leading role in the design of an Intelligent Network platform.
  • Designed and set-up development environments for several projects. These have used a variety of source code control various flavours of make.
  • Four patents relating to telecommunications and numerous innovation awards
Experience
Leisure Interests and activities I am a keen sailor, racing Laser dinghies and sailing a keel boat. I assist with a local yacht club youth training scheme.I have a long standing interest in classical music both playing and listening. I am an active participant in a local BCS program to send computers to schools in the Caribbean. I am treasurer of a local youth choral group.

Awards received GPT Software Engineer of the Year in 1993. This was awarded for the Intelligent Network Service Creation tools that I developed while in Florida and was subsequently brought to market.
